I read a review somewhere that this place was nice. If I hadn't I would have never set foot in this place. Looks like something where the local drunks hang out for cheap beers. Take a look at the menu above and you might get an idea of what I'm talking about. But hey, never judge a book bla bla bla... My dish was great! I'll definitely go here again.

I did a post on Acchiardo last year. The place is better than I remebered. I had the same bolognese as last year, started with some nice cold cuts though. Marcy had the lamb and fries and those fries must be in my top-5 fries ever. This place is really great - simple and good food for little money.

French food can be great but Italian food is so much better. That's one of the reasons I like to take the train to Italy when I'm in Nice.
Sanremo, 20 minutes east of the French Italian border, is a pretty boring city. Even so they do know how to make pizza the way I like it. This particular one is from a small place on the corner of Via Feraldi and Via Palazzo.

The best new discovery on this years Nice trip would probably have to be Café Borghèse. Located in the port, on a boring street where I'd never would have thought you'd find a restaurant this nice. Serving cocktails and simple food like steak tartare, burgers, salads and raviloi plus having happy hours between 17 - 21 they've become an afterwork favorite amongst the young and hip population of Nice.

I've been to Nice something like 13 summers straight. Every year I come across some new nice things. A beach, store, restaurant, bar or some nice product at the supermarket. Aroy Thai was one of the many things I found this year. We had springrolls for starters. They were not that great but the second dish on the other hand... I had a great beef salad with loads of lime and Marcella had the best calamares I've ever tasted.

The food is always the main attraction with going abroad. Staying someplace with a kitchen is of course a big bonus. Restaurants all day every day is great... but being able to cook at "home" when abroad is even better. Here are some pics from this years trip to Nice.

Just got back from a 3 day trip to Warszawa. One of the highlights was a dinner at the amazing Belvedere. The restaurant is located in an old garden building designed for the wintering of orange trees and is therefore known as the New Orangery. The interior was something of the nicest I've ever seen when it comes to restaurants and as far as service goes, I don't think I've ever experienced something quite like it. The food was great and the prices are very modest for what you're paying for. Anyone who visits Warszawa should make sure they squeeze in a visit to this place. Probably even nicer in summer time.

Apparently Bongos Cuban Cafe is owned by Emilio and Gloria Estefan. Can't remember if it was the guys working at our hotel or if it was a cab driver that recommended this place. The food wasn't fantastic but it was definitely worth the money. Location is nice if you're in the mood for dining outside close to lot's of people partying, selling cigars, dancing and all that other stuff you see in TV-shows and movies where they try to portray a typical vibrant Miami feeling. I'll be happy to visit this place again if I go back to South Beach.

If you want a breakfast the size of breakfast, lunch and dinner all together then Tropical Beach Cafe is the place to be. Good Cuban food at a great price. We only tried the breakfast but according to reviews on Yelp the lunch is supposed be great too. Most meals, or maybe all, come with an order of grilled, buttered Cuban bread. The bread is nice but with the size of their portions I'll have to warn you and say like Marge Simpson did: don't fill up on the bread!

Korean food is the bomb! Pancakes, dumplings, bibimbap and table BBQs. I love the concept of cooking your own food when I'm going out to eat. Our waiter at Koba was super nice. After asking us about where we were from he came back and asked us how we were doing in Swedish. Funny guy. Check out this place if you like Korean food.

On Portobello Road, under the subway train bridge, there's a cheap eatery serving sausage & mash, fish & chips and beef steaks. I think the place is called Classic Cafe... if I am not mistaken.
I went with the sausage and mashed potatoes plus a side order of mushy peas. The dish includes two sausages with a choice of lamb, chicken or vegetarian. Obviously I went for the meat. Simple and good traditional food for little money.

I had never been to Fat Burger before I went to Miami a month ago. Of all fast food burger joints I've been to in the U.S. this is now my favorite one. Greasy big burgers and a choice of skinny or fat fries, both available topped with chili and cheese. The chili cheese is one of the best inventions ever. Probably one of the least healthy too. If you would find yourself hung over anywhere remotely close to a Fat Burger restaurant there's really only one sane thing to do!

A trip to Gothenburg without a visit to Baretta is not worth remembering. I'd rate their "standard kebab" as the best in Sweden. Uddevalla, an hours drive north of Gothenburg, probably has the best "kebabtallrik" (kebab served with fries) but if we're talking kebab meat in a bread... This is it!!! Staff is nice and have been so for the last 12 years. I just wish this place had a joint in Stockholm.

After moving loads of furniture and other heavy stuff from one apartment to another, me and my big bro needed something to eat. Being in a rush I was down for anything. My brother said he knew a good place for dumplings in the area so off we went. Dumplings can either be nasty as hell, with horrible filling and thick ass dough or they can be just like these ones... really good! Sono on Ölandsgatan looks like any other boring sushi place in Stockholm, but the gyozas were way better than most I had here in Sweden. Worth a visit if you're in the Skanstull area

Went to Mäster Anders on Monday to celebrate my birthday. I had the pork chop with brussels cabbage and potato gratin, creme brulee for dessert and two Duvels to go with it all. Best restaurant meal I've had here in Stockholm, ever!

Every time I've ever eaten at Reisen, I've told myself never to do it again. It's mediocre food for way too much money. This Wednesday I was in rush and didn't really have any other option than to eat there again. I decided to try something from their menu I hadn't had before. Went with the steak tartare and I must say it was the worst steak tartare I've ever had. Expensive too! Reisen is a nice bar, but the food sucks. Their Christmas buffet is something else though. Best seafood buffet ever!

For a long time I used to shake my head every time I passed Samba Sushi on Götgatan. That was before I ever tried it. The name still sucks, but nowadays I know the food doesn't. If you're one of the many people in this world claiming sushi is more of a snack rather than a full meal Samba Sushi is guaranteed to prove you wrong. Strand in Hornstull has got a pretty good brunch buffet for a decent price. Ribs, sausages, chicken wings, noodles, potatoes, corn on the cob, salad, waffles and much more for 195 SEK. Open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Fall is, apart from the fact that the winter is on its way, a pretty nice season here in Sweden. Soups, stews and chanterelles makes up a little bit for having to dress warmer and the sun setting at 7 o'clock.

Today we finally made our first visit to Jin & Peeters. The place closes at 6 on weekdays so we've only been able to go on weekends, and it just hasn't happened until now. Jin & Peeters is a Belgian/Japanese restaurant serving dumplings, chicken and waffles. We decided to try everything and everything was great. Simple and very fresh.

Clock was a Swedish burger joint that was really big here in Sweden during the 80's til the mid 90's and closed its last restaurants in the end of the century. Apparently they're now making pizzas. Looks nasty!

Before La Neta opened its doors there wasn't any real Mexican food that I knew of here in Stockholm. Now there's a new place in town. Serrano is a fresh place specializing on burritos. The restaurant's got a fast food chain feeling when it comes to interior and graphic profile and a serving style very similar to Subway. Serrano makes US-style burritos, meaning the amount of ingredients are more than in a Mexican, and they taste quite authentic. If you're a cilantro fan like I am and craving for a good burrito this is really the only option here in Stockholm.

La Note is a cool place in Berkeley to have breakfast or lunch at. It's a French restaurant with American size portions (in other words: BIG). I had the merquez sausages with fries and eggs, and even though this was during breakfast hours and off the breakfast menu I'd probably call it lunch (or maybe a big hungover brekki). Good shit!

Just across the street from Kaffir Lime (check the post before this one to find its location) is a nice and affordable place for my all time favorite Japanese dish; dumplings. Tokyo is packed with places serving nice dumplings. Location, menu in English, the freshness and the fast service gets this place the upper hand though.

I came across an exhibition by Shuntaro Takeuchi when I was shopping at Laforet in Harajuku. Dude seems to be obsessed with painting black guys, which gave me a feeling of exoticism, but nevertheless the paintings are really good. Feeling like Thai food when in Tokyo? Kaffir Lime is a small cozy place in Harajuku. I once ordered the basil chicken here and it must have been the spiciest food I've ever had. Got tears in my eyes the second the waiter put my food on the table. Still don't know how I managed to finish it all. This time I went for something a little less spicy, green curry and chicken. My colleagues had cashew chicken and fresh spring rolls. Didn't try the rolls but the cashew chicken was really nice.

If you get tired of noodles, raw fish and rice and crave for a good old sandwich, the Little Mermaid bakery chain's got great sandwiches and pastries. I think they mainly concentrate on locating in and around the city's train stations. I had a quick stop at the one on Shibuya station, right before I took the train to the airport, on my way back home to Sweden.

Japan has nearly 200 Freshness Burger restaurants. So if you're looking for a burger in Tokyo you don't have to look for long. Freshness Burger does not serve the fanciest burgers in the world, but if you're looking for a place serving greasy burgers, fries, cold beer and has a separate room for smoking guests, then this the place.

Tried this jacket at Kapital and fell in love with it. Too bad for me the price (around 3200 SEK) didn't fit my budget.

On Meiji-dōri between Takeshita-dōri and Omote-sandō (Harajuku) there's a hole in the wall called Kebab Box J. There's another one on the same street a couple of blocks closer to Shibuya. I actually didn't have one this trip, nor the one before, but on my first trip to Tokyo I did try this goodie. I must say it was way better than I'd expected. Kebab Box J's kebab beats all kebabs I've ever had here in Stockholm, and actually even most of the ones in Gothenburg too.

Just around the corner from Koenji's JR train station exit there's an arcade housing nothing but ramen (noodle) restaurants. Tetsu is one of them. Like so many other joints in Tokyo they too have a machine taking your orders, all in Japanese. I managed to order a ramen dish with pork and five dumplings. Good stuff!

Shibuya Crossing.

Pepper Lunch is a DIY fast food chain with over 200 restaurants in the Far East. I went to the one right off the Shibuya Crossing (under the northbound train bridge). To get your food you have to pay your meal at a machine that's in Japanese only. Once you've chosen one of all the buttons on the machine and payed the amount asked for you get a receipt and you're set to go. The tricky part is the staff doesn't speak English and if you don't know how to read Japanese you have no idea what you order. Kind of like a lottery.

I got lucky and managed to order Beef Pepper Rice and a beer. Nice stuff for just under 100 SEK (beer included).

Got back from the shopping capital of the world yesterday. Tokyo's probably got the biggest selection of vintage clothes shops in the world. I think I've must have visited between 100 and 150 vintage stores during my six day stay. Of course I went to a lot of stores just carrying new stuff as well but the vintage stuff is what really stands out from the rest of the world. Nice interior, very good selection and often color and brand coordinated. Being from Sweden the Yen is really expensive. This is a big problem when you go shopping in Tokyo, wanting to buy stuff in every store you visit. But not being able to buy a tenth of it cause of the prices and the fact that there's so much good stuff everywhere you couldn't possibly buy half even if the Yen was worth half as much as it is.

1. Got these at Groovy in Shimo-Kitazawa. This store has a huge rack of PRL shirts in all colors and sizes. Last time I went here I bought three shirts that are all way too big for me nowadays so I felt I had to come back and get some new ones, in a smaller size this time.

2. Uni Qlo is the Japanese equivalent to H&M. Japanese brands usually make clothes in really small sizes due to the fact that Japanese people usually tend to be quite short. Works for me, but if you're a big guy chances you'll find something that'll fit you are slim.

3. I got this jacket at a place called Hanjiro. They have stores all over Tokyo and sell both new and used clothes for both men and women.

4. Collect Point is a store in Harajuku carrying new clothes only. Gung Ho is one of the many brands sold there and unfortunately I don't know anything at all about this brand and can't seem to find anything on the internet either. This jacket only came in S, M and L. I got myself a Large but it rather looks like a Small and I think it actually might be too small for me. Liked it so much when I tried it on so I got it anyway.

5. Interbreed is a street wear brand from Tokyo doing lots of remakes on famous logos. I got this B.I.G. Teddy Polo t-shirt at Blackanny in Harajuku.

6. Koenji is probably my favorite part of Tokyo. Calm area with loads of vintage stores and ramen places. I found this tee at A.M.M.S. on the same street as the PAL arcade.

7. Really like this style. Sort of like a mix of a sweatshirt and a cardigan... Or maybe more like a jersey cotton varsity jacket. Got it at a vintage store in Koenji called Hurry Up.

8. Chicago is a two floor thrift store in Harajuku. Lots of shit, but also a lot of great stuff for really great prices. Payed around 80 SEK for this sweatshirt.

9. Patch 10. Helmet, saddle and handlebar tape 11. Nike Air Max 1 12. Used Carhartt jacket (100 years 1989 - 1989) with matching button-on hood

9. Jannu-2 is a cool shop in Harajuku strictly focusing on varsity type clothing. You can buy all kinds of basic wear and have it customized with your own embroideries, patches and prints. Got this "F" to put on one of my varsity jackets. Pics coming once it's done.

10. Got the helmet (Sons of Anarchy style) at a crazy store in Shibuya that sells everything from beer to gold watches. Handlebar tape and saddle is from Tokyu Hands, a six floor (?) department store in Shibuya carrying all kinds of stuff. They've got there own bike shop with their separate entrance on one of the department store's corners.

11. Don't remember what the store where I bought these was called but it's on Takeshita Street in Harajuku.

12. Got this Carhartt jacket at Chicago in Harajuku (same place I got #8).

Other stores you need to check out in Tokyo is the Kapital stores and Beauty and Youth United Arrows.

Visiting Stuzzico is a must... when drunk in the old town of Nice. Great pizza slices and Heineken beer. You know the drill!

Written on http://www.tripadvisor.com by another fan: Although Stuzzico is more an Italian take-away than a restaurant, you can dine there. If you do, you have to order a bottle of wine with your food. Do it, you won't regret it.
Stuzzico serves focaccias, pizzas, paninis and other Italian and Sicilian specialities, but also Niçoise specialities, like socca.
The pizza's are huge and cost 8 euros, but you can have a slice for 2 euros, and they are delicious, with a nice thin base. If you order 4 pizza's or so on a regular basis, they will give you a fifth one for free.
Only outstanding quality can keep a place like Stuzzico succesful for so many years.

Restaurant Eden on the Mala beach in Cap d'Ail is one of my favorite spots in the world. Not cause the food is exceptionally great but because of the location. Cap d'Ail is a truly beautiful place, and sitting in the sofas drinking rosé at Eden, looking at the ocean is the definition of the good life. If you go to Nice you have to visit Cap d'Ail and when you get of sick of suntanning you have to check out Eden. Good food, a bit too expensive for what they serve and a lovely view that compensates for just that.

Got back from another week in Nice about a week ago. Before I left I went to Tony, my favorite tailor, to have him fix all the dried up rubber bands in my old bathing trunks I've dug up from old boxes packed with stuff from my childhood.

We managed to squueze in three visits to Café de Turin during our stay. Service was so so... just like it always is... but the oysters and the mussels where top notch like we're used to too.

We made a day trip to Cap Ferrat during our week in Nice. The scenery was amazing and I'd recommend everyone that's on the French Riviera to walk around the "cap". After a 2 hour plus walk we we're in serious need of some food and somehow we decided on taking a trip back to the early 90's. Le Sloop in the harbor of the village is, according to themselves, a gourmet restaurant. Once upon a time they probably were. Nowadays they're just an over prized restaurant serving descent food with the risk of having you feel like you've gone back 15 years in time. Nothing wrong with the food but it's not worth the visit. So if you do the long walk around the peninsula, just grab a pizza before leaving the village instead of wasting your time and money on Le Sloop.

Me and Quincy Jones at McDonald's on Hamngatan, Stockholm this summer.

Pleasant is a place that lives up to its name. A small bar/restaurant with a fairly big outdoor seating during summer. The staff is nice and the food is good and pretty cheap. Nice place to start the evening off with some food and drinks before hitting the club. Plus DJ Taro's in charge of the music on Thursdays so you now it's going to be a pleasant evening.

Shrimp papaya salad.

I know I've said Hanoi is my favorite Vietnamese place in Stockholm, but that was before I'd been to Nem Nem Quan on Södermalm. I had a pancake for starter that was truly great and Marcy had a papaya salad that was really good too. We both had pork skewers with rice noodles and spring rolls for main course and even though it wasn't as exciting as the starters it was still a really nice dish. If you like Vietnamese food you have to pay Nem nem Quan a visit.

Amida Kolgrill was probably the first place I liked going to regularly in Stockholm. Even before I moved here I used to try to squeeze in a visit every time I went up here. Amida's recipe for success is good raw products and their charcoal grill. It's just nice BBQd oriental food for a good price, plain and simple.

When I wrote about the bibimbap at Dragon Sushi I said I'd try the dumplings the next time. Now I have. The presentation of the food, having the gyoza placed in a circle on top of the rice and the greens on the side, made me like it even before I tried it. Dragon Sushi's dumplings are not the best I ever had but they're definitely worth the visit.

The pizzas at L'Eau à la Bouche is good, but they actually look even better than they are. Especially considering the fact that they charge you 17 euros a pie. More and more interesting stuff seems to be popping up on Kungsholmen, one of the least lively neighbourhoods in Stockholm city. One of the must-go-to places is Taylors & Jones. A food store mainly focusing on meat, ran by Irish butcher, David Taylor and Welsh chef, Gareth Jones. Their selection of sausages is ridiculously good compared to any other place I've been to here in Sweden. If you like good sausages you have to go here asap!

I've blogged about Marstrand's fish 'n' chips before but I haven't mentioned that the fish stand also does a pretty good mackerel with potato salad.

The fish stand also does shrimp sandwiches. If you're in the mood for a räkmacka this is definitely not the place to go when on Marstrand. A bit further down on Hamngatan there's a café/bakery called Bergs Konditori that makes a much better one. Just remember to order one without butter, cause the butter they're using isn't any good at all.

For such a small island as Marstrand the place is packed with restaurants and bars. Drott is one of the best places to eat lunch according to my dad, who's been to more of the restaurants than I have. So we went there to go see for ourselves. I ordered the day's special, fish roulade with potatoes, and it was really good. With the day's special a sallad and herring buffet is also included. In other words you get a lot for the money you pay. Johan had the bookmaker toast which looked great (didn't try it myself).

Stockholm city is packed with Thai and sushi places. The Vietnamese has never really gotten big here though. It's a shame, cause I really love Vietnamese food. Hanoi was the first Vietnamese restaurant to open in all of Sweden (opened in 2004). It's not just the first one, it's also my favorite one. The place doesn't look like much, neither from the outside or interior wise. But hey... never judge a book by it's cover! They serve fresh and tasty food for little money.
Apart from a few nice restaurants in this area there's not much reason to ever visit this part of Stockholm, but Hanoi is actually worth going all the way to one of the city's most boring blocks.

If I had to rank the few good pizza spots in Stockholm, then Tevere on Nytorget would be on my top-5 places in town. Nothing spectacular but good ingredients makes a good pizza and you get it for an affordable price. The only minus would be that since the place is on Nytorget, there's always a big risk of fighting for tables with families with small screaming children.

Just like McDonald's in Sweden has their own burger on the menu (McFeast) that you won't find abroad, so does France. The French Mickey D's burger is called Royal Deluxe and is, even though I usually don't like McDonald's, really good.
The Royal Deluxe consists of a burger, bun, lettuce, onions, tomato, cheddar cheese and last but not least mustard sauce. The sauce is what makes this burger, without it it'd just be a plain boring tasteless burger like McFeast. The mustard sauce makes this burger so good that a visit to McDonald's is a must whenever I go to France.

As a kid I used to love Bonne Maman's marmelade. I still do but I don't eat that much bread anymore so I haven't had any in many years. Nowadays Bonne Maman does loads of other products like cookies, yogurt and desserts. That Bonne Maman logo is a guarantee that it's top class products. Find out for yourself and go get their yogurt with figs.

This is my third straight summer I've been to Marseille. And just like last summer the chicken ball has been on top of my to-do-list. This year I found out what the thing is actually called. Pastilla (or b'stilla) is the name of this delicious invention. The bakery I've been to the last two summers was closed (don't know if they had vacation or was out of business), but on the same street I found an almost identical pastilla to the one I've had before. It's a small phyllo pie filled with chicken, cinnamon and apple.

Another ten meters down the street a bakery called Le Soleil d'Egypte had another kind of pastilla filled with chicken, almonds and other things I'm not sure of. Not as sweet as the first one but still very good.

In Marseille you'll probably find pastillas at most bakeries in the area called Noailles.

Toinou is the Marseille version of Nice's Café de Turin. A little bigger, a little better and a little cheaper. 50 cl of wine is only 4 euros! The menu's got more to choose from than Café de Turin. Only thing Toinou doesn't deliver on the same level is the moules marinieres. Not cause their's not good but cause Café de Turin makes one of the best I ever had. This is a must go spot if you go to Marseille.

We decided we were actually going to see that château on the hill once and for all. Didn't find it this time either. Finally realized there's nothing left but those boring ass ruins. So after a never ending walk we decided to treat ourselves to some oysters.

Café de Turin on place Garibaldi is one of my favorite spots in Nice. Nothing fancy service wise or how the way the food is presented, but the food is amazing. Oysters, crawfish, mussels, shrimps and pretty much everything else from the sea you can eat is served at this tasty yet affordable restaurant. We managed to squeeze in two visits during our stay in Nice. Wish we would have done three or four.

On the same street as Niss'tanbul there's an ice cream place called Peccati di Gola. I'm not very big on ice cream and think it's a pretty overrated phenomenon, but this ice cream is truly amazing. The last one I had during this stay in Nice I downed so fast I got a cold shock in my throat. If you're reading this Theo I'll bet you're thinking: Hate to say I told you so! Theo always eats his ice cream from Peccati di Gola in slow motion claiming it is what you should do if you truly want to enjoy something.

Like the name wasn't reason enough to visit this place, they got great kebabs too. Choose between Berlin döner style bread or the flat round bread they make into a roll. You also get to choose between mayonnaise, white sauce, picante sauce, ketchup and if you want fries or not in the kebab.

My colleagues want to go to Urth Caffe every time they visit LA. Maybe it's cause they got that organic thing going, or maybe cause they hopin' to see someone famous, or maybe it's just cause it's supposed to be good. I mean it ain't bad but I just don't get what the hype is all about. If you're looking for a nice quesadilla in LA I bet you there's about a thousand places who make a better, bigger and cheaper one. But if you can't settle for nothing else than organic food you should go here.

In the last six months I've been to LA three times. All of my trips I've stayed at The Standard Hollywood. So I had my fair share of breakfasts at the hotel. My favorite would be a toss up between the huevos rancheros and the granola with yogurt and fresh berries. The place is a bit pricey in my opinion, but since I've had it payed by work I haven't really had to give it that much thought.

Yesterday we drove off down south. Stopped in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and Balboa Island and finished off in Laguna Beach. On Balboa Island I came across two frozen banana stands and felt I just had to try one. Being a big fan of Arrested Development (the TV-show) I had to find out what this thing tasted like. On the main street on the island called Marine Avenue, right next to each other, you have Dad's Donut & Bakery Shop and Sugar 'N' Spice. I wasn't quite sure which one to go with but I heard some girls talking about Sugar 'N' Spice being the original one so I figured I'd go for that one. What you get is a frozen banana double dipped in chocolate and then dipped again in the topping of your choice. I went for peanuts and chocolate topping. I loved it, but not being much of a sweet tooth I thought that it was a bit too much with a whole one for myself. But hey, this is America... nothing comes in small sizes. It tasted like a Magnum ice cream with banana sorbet instead of vanilla ice cream. In other words: great success!

Me and Marcella went to B.A.R. after work today. Felt we had to get into the moules frites mood now that we only have a week left before we go to Nice. The fries at B.A.R. are not the best, but there's nothing wrong at all with the mussels and the price (135 SEK for mussels, fries and mayo). If you don't like mussels there are lots of meat and fish on their menu with the same concept as on Marie Laveau where you have a variety of cheap side orders so you can compose your own dish.

Made my first visit ever to Dragon Sushi on Hornsgatan today. Hardly ever seen the place before but Simon convinced me we should go there and down the bibimbap. Nice small place and the dish was really nice and gave me somewhat of a food coma. Next time I'll try their fried dumplings that looked hella good. NFC (Nordstan Fried Chicken) opened in Nordstan, Gothenburg a year or two ago. Then a month or so ago they closed down. I never went there even though I felt I had to, just cause I loved the fact that they had stolen the logo straight off of KFC's logo. However, last week on my way to catch the train back to Stockholm, after a 30 hour visit in Gothenburg, I saw that sign again. NFC has moved to Nils Ericsonterminalen so I guess the "N" does not stand for Nordstan anymore. My expectations were pretty low and the fries, chicken and sauce wasn't very good either. So if you're thinking of going to NFC... DON'T!

I know I said I was set for the summer with my new cut off shorts, but today I bought a pair of vintage chinos at Weekday and cut them off too.

Gothenburg has the best kebab pizza in Sweden if you ask me. One of my favorites is Slottsskogens Pizzeria. What's typical for a Gothenburg style kebab pizza is that you get it with fresh salad, tomatoes, cucumber and everything else you would get in a regular kebab. Slottskogens Pizzeria even got feta cheese and olives on it. Marcella described it like this: "it's like a pizza with kebab meat and a full Greek salad on it".

This weekend must have been my best one so far this year. Or maybe in two years. I'm not gonna tell you anything about it though cause it's not gonna sound any fun in words here on eff-u anyway. Plus my girl tells me I suck at telling stories. One of the many cab drivers we got acquainted with this weekend told me he thought I was a great story teller though. And, as he put his hand over his chest, he added that I did it in a warm way. But by the time he started complimenting me I was the only one left in the cab so no one believed me when I told them what he told me anyway.

Went to Pong yesterday for their dinner buffet, I've only tried the lunch buffet before. The dinner buffet is 198 SEK (lunch is 90 SEK) and includes everything the lunch does plus loads of dim sum, thai salads and some simple deserts. Just like the lunch I highly recommend it.

Today after work I went to Vurma, bought a burger and went to Humlegården and downed it. Nothing wrong with that burger apart from the price really. It's 149 SEK and I don't think it's worth more than a hundred. I think most places in Stockholm charge way too much for their burgers though. With Reisen being one of the top contenders (no shots).

If you're looking for a nice sausage in Stockholm there's really just one place to go. Östermalms Korvspecialist got around 15 different sausages to choose from and you get them in a french bread with a spicy sauce and lots of sauerkraut. I've actually just tried the cabanossi but why try something else when you've already found a ten pointer.

My friend Andreas told me about a new Indian place in Hornstull called Simply Pam's that he thinks is great. He also added "Indian Garden is overrated". I don't think it's overrated. At least not the food. The fact that they want you to leave the second you had your last bite and the food being a bit pricey (same price for take away as it is to eat in!) is a big minus but the food is really good in my opinion. I might change my mind after I've tried the new place that according to Andreas serve "bread beyond nan". Till then I still got Indian Garden in my top two Indian places in Stockholm together with Shanti.

They were all good but next time I'll go for just the chicken cause it was definitely the best one.

Say what!? I've been waiting for this winter to be over for forever. I was just getting my hopes up that we might get some nice spring weather and then POW! Summer hit us from nowhere. I'm not complaining but I'd be really happy if spring dropped by next year. Preferably in the beginning of March. Anyhow, we had our first BBQ of the year today. I've told you before about the great chorizos in Hötorgshallen so it's about that time I let you know where you can get the best merguez in town. Surprise, surprise... it's from La Gazelle in Hötorgshallen.

On our way back home from our BBQ in Skinnarviksparken we passed our dream house. If I get filthy rich some day I want this house, and I want it BAD!

Today I picked up my new bike that I got from Child Store and officially said good bye to my old one, that I really loved even though I never got to ride it much.

I've been to Cafe Gitane in NoLIta (North of Little Italy) on Manhattan, New York two or three times and I really like the place. Not too pricey, not too fancy, nice atmosphere and good food. I've heard this place is supposed to be good for spotting celebs. I've never seen any. With or without the celebs it's definitely worth a visit. It's a French/Moroccan kitchen serving things like merguez with couscous, meatballs in tomato sauce, goat cheese with pomegranate syrup, baked feta cheese... plus it's a nice place for drinking sparkling wine or french beer.

Feels like I've mentioned Sukhothai and Thai House Wok ten times on this blog before but here we go again. The reason is the thai kiosk, Sukhothai, hasn't been any good lately. So forget everything I've said about it and visit Thai House Wok instead from now on. That's what I've been doing and I'll keep doing that till someone tells me Sukhothai has shaped up again.

Try out these new (?) sauces from Budweiser. You can find them at most good supermarkets in Stockholm. Perfect for all the BBQs we'll be having this summer... if the sun gods don't fuck it all up.

Finally got to use one of my pieces of fabric I bought at Liberty last month. I just knew it was a great buy even though I did spend 15 pounds on them.

My friend Maggie Loo turns 30 today. We celebrated her last hours as a 20 something last night at her place and then we went to Berns where DJ Taro and DJ Viet-naam was playing. In other words; GREAT SUCCESS! But with success comes setbacks... And the best way to fight this setback was going for pizza this morning. Pizza Villabate aka Dellos on Högalidsgatan recently got new owners and the first time I went there after the change I was a bit disappointed. Mainly cause that was when I realized there was someone else baking my pie than what I was used to (autistic thinking I know). Today (my second time since the new guys took over) I realized that the pizzas at Villabate are still great. I just downed the left overs from this morning and it was almost better cold than warm and there's not that many pizzas you can say that about.

UPDATE: Last time I went here (October 17th 2010) the pizza sucked! Won't be going here again.

Went to Babylon on Södermalm on Thursday. Never been there before so I felt I had to try out something from the menu even though we did go there for the beer. I had the beef tenderloin toast with horseradish and I loved it!

We were driving down La Cienega Boulevard, hungover and hungry after our NYE celebration the night before, when we passed Gyu-Kaku and decided to give it a shot. One of the best decisions we made during the whole trip. We got there during their happy hour; 99 cent draft beer and half price on most of the meat. Getting to BBQ your own meat and paying 99 cents for a beer would be enough for me to love the place, the fact that the food was really, really good just made me love it even more. You have to check this place out if you go to LA, NYC or Hawaii.

I'm usually pretty skeptic when it comes to buffets. This Friday Simon convinced me to tag along to Pong's buffet on Drottninggatan for lunch. I must say I was very positively surprised. Everything I tried was good, staff was nice and the place was clean and nice. Most definitely worth the 90 SEK. Even though the food was nice and looked nice too I didn't feel a picture of it would be fare. Buffet plates with five, six types of food on it just don't look as good as it might taste. This is probably the best lunch buffet in Stockholm according to themselves and I might just be willing to agree.

Yesterday men and Marcy made pizza at home before we went out to booze it up at Salongen. One of the best Saturdays in a long time.

Daaaaamn I miss the RnB of the late 90s / early 00s! Uptempo club hits and even the dudes had mad dance moves. Don't get me wrong... I like slow jams, but where did the club RnB go? In 1999 Usher released his 8701 and the single U Remind Me. Massive tune as the Brits would say. 4 years later Marques Houston gave us That Girl. I'd say it's as close to remake of a song and video you can come without actually doing a remake or cover. The dance moves, the break with the dance routine, the lyrics, the beat... U remind me!

Been a while since my last update. The reason: haven't had any food worth blogging about. Cause I take it you don't want me to write about Sukhothai every other day!?

Anyway... this week has been quite eventful so far. This Monday me and my brother went to see Boyz II Men at Göta Källare. It was amazing! Just like last time I saw them, two years ago at Berns, they gave a great show. Great tracks, amazing voices and dance routines i'd kill to be able to do. I promised my brother to write about Shawn taking shots at US artists canceling their gigs in Europe. My brother was convinced he was referring to R. Kelly. He's probably right. So if you don't know, now you know. BIIM is beefin with Kellz.

Tuesday I went to get my European cut at my new favorite barber in Stockholm. Georgs Frisering on Torsgatan 10 is the place to go if you want to look like yours truly. He'll only charge you 195 SEK too. Quite a bargain if I may say so. I've started going once a month and plan to do so for the rest of my life here in Stockholm.

Yesterday me and the rest of Feskarna went to the monthly rap quiz at Reisen on Skeppsbron 12 and finished in second place. Semi success! But before the quiz I manged to squeeze in some take out from Helens Sushi. I had the teriyaki lax and it was nothing more than okey. From now on I'll just stick to what I know Helens knows best; Dumplings and sushi.

Speaking of sushi... check out these nice illustrations from a Japanese children's ABC book i bought last time I was in Tokyo at an antiquarian book store. This Japanese illustrator is named Taro Gomi and has done a bunch of books I'd like to get my hands on... Is it just me or doesn't Everybody Poos sound like a title you'd like to have at home. What's up with me and children's books!? Am I too immature to understand anything else or are illustrations made by grown ups for children just much nicer than any other type of illustrations. If I wasn't doing what I was doing I'd love to be making children's books.

Since I couldn't go to Rome with my family to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday we went to Marstrand instead. The fact that the ashes stole my vacation is really starting to get to me now that I'm back in Stockholm. The weather is shit and work is not a blast right now since my colleague is stuck in the UK and there's too much to do. Only good thing today, apart from watching the last two episodes of The Wire season 1 for the second time, was going to Helens Sushi. This place has the best dumplings in Stockholm. Both steamed and fried to give them the ultimate consistency. Go for the scampi and pork!

Sushibar Ki-Mama revisited. This is one of my favorite places in Stockholm. This time I had a dish I never tried before; the lax-kimchi. I loved it. Go get it!

Yesterday when I was YouTubing I found this crazy remix of Mariah's Ribbon. It's so much better than the original and the official remix. Some random dude I never heard of made it. Iceland has done it again! Fucked up big time. First they decided to put all their money in US banks or some shit like that and became one of the biggest losers in the credit crunch. Now they're responsible for me not spending the next seven days in a mansion a 50 minutes drive from Rome, Italy. Seriously guys... when are you gonna start contributing? And no I don't like that autistic girl Björk so you still haven't done one single good thing... you racist bastards.

Okey, enough with the hate. Thai House Wok is a great place to eat Thai food if you're on Södermalm. They got one place on Hornsgatan and one on Folkkungagatan. It's not as cheap as Sukhothai but it's just as good and you can sit inside and eat.

And in international food news: KFC has launched their Double Down! Two pieces of fried chicken sandwiching some bacon and cheese. So now it's official guys... bread is no longer needed to make a burger. Fried chicken does the bread's job just as well plus it's way healthier.

Heathrow's terminal 5 is like paradise compared to all of Arlanda's sad terminals together. One of the reasons is Wagamama. At Sweden's airports you'll find eateries you can't find anywhere else in the world... in a bad way! Expensive as hell, bad food and hardly anything but sandwiches. At Heathrow, on the other hand, they got the same restaurant chains as in the city, with the same menus and the same prices.

Before we headed off to the airport we had to do a wee bit more shopping. I bought a six pack of small fabric pieces just cause the prints were so nice. Now I just need to find a jacket with a chest pocket so I have somewhere to put them. Maybe I should have started from the other end...

I also got this children's book by Czechoslovakian author and illustrator Miroslav Sasek. Some of the nicest illustrations I've ever seen. I think I need to get all his other books too now.

On our last night in London we went to Nando's. They're all about chicken, S.A.S. (Eurogang) would probably call it Britain's answer to Popeye's in the US. The food is good, cheap, concept's nice but they forgot Marcella's food so she got her's 20 minutes later than us.

We started the day with going to the Sunday Up Market in the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane (it's open every Sunday between 10 am and 5 pm). It's a lot bigger than the Broadway Market we went to yesterday, but size doesn't always matter cause I liked Broadway better. Just like yesterday I found the food stalls more interesting than the clothing and bric-a-brac. The place is packed with food stalls from all over the globe. I got myself some Peking duck rolls, a Turkish gözleme with minced beef and a lemonade. Looked and sounds more exciting than it was. Not saying it was bad but compared to the food at the Broadway Market this was a little bit more like what you would expect from a stall serving fast food.

Then we hopped on the tube again and went back west to Portobello. The clothes and bric-a-brac market was pretty boring as usual, plus we didn't have much energy left for more markets. I did find a nice pair of shoes at Office though.

Last night we met up with Amir, Yaya and Frida again. Frida had booked a table att Viet Grill in Shoreditch. I love Vietnamese food so I was pretty, pretty, pretty excited about it. I wasn't disappointed either since the food was great. I started with Imperial spring rolls and then I downed the roasted duck and noodles. I had a hard time taking a picture of the main course that made it look as good as it tasted so if you don't think it looks good you just have to believe me that it was.

We've been to the Broadway Market today. We spent our money on food and spent some time in the park, London fields, and had a beer with Amir, Yaya and Frida. Amir and Yaya are, just like us, here for the R. Kelly concert that never happened. If you're into food from food stalls you need to go here when in London. We had galettes, burgers and Ghanaian food. I'ma let the pictures speak for themselves.

Today we've been shopping! Thought I would look like a rookie compared to Marcella and Joey but actually I made them look like shopaholics in rehab. We stopped for a ginger beer at some café and then we went to Le Pain Quotidien for some lunch. I had a cup of red pepper soup and one of my French all time favorites; plat de charcuterie. Basically just a plate full of cold cut meats, paté and bread. It's "knife food" ad it's finest! Le Pain Quotidien has restaurants all over the world so chances are you'll run into one sooner or later.

Today i bought a pair of heavy washed Levi's 501 jeans and a purple and white striped shirt, both from Urban Outfitters vintage clothing department. I also got a yellow Levi's shirt from Mint Vintage Clothing, green knitted grandpa shirt from COS and a Hawaii shirt from Rockit.

We also got these cups from London Graphic Centre. I know... Pantone... might be as nerdy as you can get, especially if you're a designer. But the colors were so nice we just couldn't resist.

Never thought I would recommend Linnéterrassen Kök & Bar on this blog. But that was before I actually ate there. I've been there loads of times drinking beer on their grand terrace but I've never ordered anything to eat. I was quite surprised though, our lunch was really nice. Not extraordinary but definitely worth the money.
