You can't sea me!

I've blogged about Marstrand's fish 'n' chips before but I haven't mentioned that the fish stand also does a pretty good mackerel with potato salad.

The fish stand also does shrimp sandwiches. If you're in the mood for a räkmacka this is definitely not the place to go when on Marstrand. A bit further down on Hamngatan there's a café/bakery called Bergs Konditori that makes a much better one. Just remember to order one without butter, cause the butter they're using isn't any good at all.

Island rock

For such a small island as Marstrand the place is packed with restaurants and bars. Drott is one of the best places to eat lunch according to my dad, who's been to more of the restaurants than I have. So we went there to go see for ourselves. I ordered the day's special, fish roulade with potatoes, and it was really good. With the day's special a sallad and herring buffet is also included. In other words you get a lot for the money you pay. Johan had the bookmaker toast which looked great (didn't try it myself).

Sleep with the fishes

Let's stay on the Swedish west coast. An hour north of Gothenburg there's an island called Marstrand. The place is known for its fortress, nice scenery and all the brats who invade the island and act like idiots during the annual sailing week. But to me Marstrand is so much more. Just look at this beauty!





So if you ever set foot on Marstrand make sure you don't miss the fish and chips from the fish van down on the dock. Watch out for the seagulls though... they be lovin it too.
